Use a network share

To register a folder that is already shared from another computer (a location such as \\server\share), you have to map it to a drive letter first.

Why a drive letter is required

The picker for adding a shared folder (see "Set it up") only lists drives that are already mapped. There is no field for typing a share path directly.

Map a drive letter

1. Open File Explorer (Win + E).
2. Select "This PC" in the left sidebar.
3. Select "..." (See more) in the toolbar, then "Map network drive".
4. In the "Drive" box, pick a drive letter.
5. Enter the share path (like \\server\share) in the "Folder" box, or select "Browse" to find it.
6. Select "Finish".

You may be prompted for a username and password. This is skipped for shares you already have access to. To sign in as a different user, select "Connect using different credentials".

Once mapped, the drive appears in the WebLAV directory picker.
